Joyous Jambalaya

When Spices Are Surprised

In the bizarre kitchen of Chef Basil Buns, a pot of jambalaya refuses to settle into the bland. It insists on wearing a top hat, drumming with onions, and occasionally singing jazz standards about thyme.

Step 1: Gather the customary ingredients—shrimp, andouille sausage, diced tomatoes, and rice—then the weird: a single rubber chicken, a sprig of rosemary, and a spoonful of glitter that melts into a rainbow sauce.

Step 2: Saute the sausage until it screams, then add tomatoes that self‑talk, onions that tell jokes, and simmer until the aroma convinces the pigeons outside to stop pecking at your window.

“The first bite made me question reality, but the second made me want to dance.” – Chef Basil Buns, 2021

Serve with a side of giggling garlic bread so the dish stays in the realm of the impossible.
